Turn a Product Photo into Reusable Layers
Upload a product photo, ecommerce visual, or finished campaign image and let AI separate its major products, packaging, display props, decorative elements, and background into individual visual layers. Preview each result, download transparent PNG assets, or export the composition as a layered PSD for continued design work.
The generated layers are created from a flattened image. They are not the original studio, Photoshop, or design-source layers, and areas hidden behind objects may be estimated by AI.

More Than Background Removal
Background removers create a transparent cutout. ImageToLayers also reconstructs the area hidden behind the subject, giving you complete assets for editing and composition.
Most images are processed in 60–120 seconds.

What Product Layer Separation Can—and Cannot—Do
AI creates a new layer structure from the visible pixels in a flattened product image. It does not recover the original photography setup, Photoshop document, smart objects, masks, text layers, or vector artwork. Areas hidden behind products or props may be estimated from the surrounding image. Fine packaging text, reflections, glass, liquids, transparent materials, soft shadows, and heavily overlapping elements may require manual cleanup.
Always review product labels, logos, colors, proportions, reflections, and packaging details before publishing or using generated assets commercially.
Only need two layers?
Just the subject and the background? Try Background Splitter
When a photo only has one subject in front of a background, Background Splitter gives you a transparent foreground and a reconstructed background in one step, without setting up a full multi-object layer split.

Original photo
The source image with a single subject and background.

Transparent foreground
The subject isolated as a clean transparent PNG.

Reconstructed background
The scene behind the subject, rebuilt and reusable on its own.
Need more than two layers, multiple objects, props, or text? Use the workspace above instead.
Product Photo to Layers FAQ
Can I separate a product photo into multiple layers?
Yes. The tool attempts to separate major products, packaging, props, decorations, and background regions into independently manageable raster layers.
How is this different from removing the background?
Background removal normally returns one transparent product cutout. Product Photo to Layers attempts to create several reusable visual assets from the complete composition.
Will product labels and packaging text remain accurate?
Visible labels normally remain part of the extracted product raster layer, but small text, reflections, transparent packaging, and generated hidden areas should always be reviewed before publishing.
Does it create editable Photoshop text?
No. Advertising text or packaging text may remain inside raster image layers. The tool does not guarantee native Photoshop text, the original font, or editable typography.
Can it separate shadows?
Clear cast shadows may sometimes be included as separate or supporting layers. Soft contact shadows, reflections, and ambient lighting may remain attached to the product, props, or background.
Can it recover the background behind the product?
AI may generate a visually plausible background for areas that were hidden by products or props. It cannot recover unseen original pixels.
Which product photos work best?
High-resolution images with recognizable products, clear boundaries, good contrast, and limited overlap generally produce the most reusable layers.
Can I export a PSD?
Yes. Supported plans can export the generated composition as a layered PSD. Individual transparent PNG layers can also be downloaded in a ZIP package.
Should I use Product Photo to Layers or Product Photo Editor?
Use Product Photo to Layers when you want to extract and reuse elements from an existing product visual. Use Product Photo Editor when you want to generate a new angle, background, lighting treatment, or campaign variation.
