Transparent PNG Layer Extraction

Extract Transparent PNG Layers from an Image

Upload a flat JPG, PNG, or WebP image and let AI separate its major subjects, objects, and background regions into reusable transparent PNG assets. Preview each layer, download individual PNG files, or export the complete result as a structured ZIP package for design and production workflows.

Generated assets are created from the visible pixels in your source image. Complex overlaps, reflections, soft shadows, transparent materials, and hidden areas may require additional review.

Background removers create a transparent cutout. ImageToLayers also reconstructs the area hidden behind the subject, giving you complete assets for editing and composition.

Final Layers

More Than Background Removal

Background removers create a transparent cutout. ImageToLayers also reconstructs the area hidden behind the subject, giving you complete assets for editing and composition.

Most images are processed in 60–120 seconds.

One image, multiple reusable assets

One Image, Multiple Reusable Assets

Instead of keeping every visible element locked inside one flattened image, create a set of transparent PNG layers that can be downloaded, moved, and reused independently.

Main SubjectMain Subject
Supporting ElementsSupporting Elements
Reusable BackgroundReusable Background

Main Subject

The primary product, person, or object extracted as an independent transparent PNG asset.

Supporting Elements

Secondary objects, props, and other visually distinct elements separated when their boundaries are clear.

Reusable Background

A background asset that may include AI-estimated content where foreground elements previously covered the scene.

Original Reference

The original uploaded image is kept as a reference for comparison alongside the separated assets.

Structured for production use

Structured ZIP Download

Download all generated assets in one organized ZIP package with a machine-readable manifest describing each layer.

Layer order reflects what the AI provider returned. It is not guaranteed to exactly reproduce the original composited image when stacked.

How to Create Transparent Layer Assets

01

Upload a Flat Image

Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP image containing the elements you want as separate assets.
02

Choose the Layer Detail

Choose how many major visual elements the AI should attempt to separate. More layers may require more review.
03

Review the Transparent Layers

Toggle individual assets, inspect their edges, and check any areas estimated behind previously hidden elements.
04

Download PNG Assets

Download individual transparent PNG files or export the complete layer set as a structured ZIP package.

Built for Reusable Visual Production

Ecommerce Asset Libraries

Extract products, packaging, and decorative elements for repeated use across listings, storefronts, and promotional layouts.

Campaign Variations

Reuse subjects and graphic elements when adapting a campaign to new sizes, languages, platforms, or seasonal designs.

Design Systems

Organize reusable visual components instead of repeatedly extracting the same elements from flattened source images.

Motion and Template Drafts

Use the separated PNG layers as a starting asset set for motion graphics, parallax drafts, and template workflows.

What Transparent Layer Extraction Can—and Cannot—Do

AI generates a new set of transparent assets from a flattened image. It does not recover the original Photoshop, Illustrator, Figma, or source-document layers. Content hidden behind foreground elements may be estimated from surrounding pixels. Fine hair, glass, liquids, reflections, soft shadows, motion blur, and heavily overlapping objects may require manual cleanup. Visible text may remain part of a raster layer and is not converted into editable typography.

Only need two layers?

Just the subject and the background? Try Background Splitter

When a photo only has one subject in front of a background, Background Splitter gives you a transparent foreground and a reconstructed background in one step, without setting up a full multi-object layer split.

Transparent Layer Assets FAQ

What is a transparent layer asset?

A transparent layer asset is a PNG image containing one separated visual element on a transparent background, ready to be downloaded and reused independently.

Can I extract multiple transparent PNGs from one image?

Yes. The tool attempts to separate major visible subjects, objects, and background regions into individual transparent PNG layers.

Does the ZIP include a manifest?

Yes. The ZIP package includes a manifest.json listing each layer's file name, detected name, and pixel dimensions, along with the job ID and export time.

Will stacking the layers exactly reproduce the original image?

Not guaranteed. Layer order reflects what the AI provider returned rather than a verified compositing order, so results should be reviewed before production use.

Are the assets taken from the original pixels?

Visible portions of separated elements are based on the source image. Hidden or obstructed areas may be estimated by AI and should be reviewed before production use.

Will text become editable?

No. Visible text may be included as a raster image asset, but it is not converted into native editable typography or restored fonts.

Can I download layers individually instead of the full ZIP?

Yes. Each separated layer can be downloaded on its own as a transparent PNG, or you can download the complete ZIP package.

Which images work best?

High-resolution images with recognizable objects, clear edges, good contrast, and limited overlap generally produce the most reusable transparent layers.
