Replace one section
Keep the Video You Like. Change the Part You Don't.
You do not always need to regenerate an entire video just because one section is missing, weak, or needs a different idea.
AI Video Scene Inserter lets you keep the footage that already works and replace only the section you want to change. Choose where the edit begins, choose where your original footage should return, and generate the new scene in between.
Sometimes Only One Part Needs to Change
- The opening may already be right.
- The ending may already be right.
Maybe you only need a different action in the middle, a missing transition, another product moment, or a short scene that was never filmed.
Instead of starting again from frame one, replace the part that needs work.
What actually happens
What Gets Changed?
- The selected section of your source video is replaced.
- Everything before your Start point stays as the opening footage.
- AI generates a new scene.
- Then the video returns to your original source at the Resume point.
The generated scene can be longer or shorter than the original section it replaces.
Example
See One Section Replaced
The same clip before and after replacing a few seconds in the middle with a new scene.
New scene prompt
A fluffy white cat jumps up onto the wooden table next to the teapot, sniffs the cup, then sits down and looks calmly at the camera.
The example clip and the new scene were created with AI for this demonstration.
How it works
Replace a Scene in Three Steps
- 1
Upload Your Video
Start with the footage you already want to keep.
- 2
Choose the Section to Replace
Set where the original video stops and where it should resume.
- 3
Describe and Generate the New Scene
Tell AI what should happen in between. The new scene is generated and combined with the surrounding original footage.
Why replace a scene
Edit the Middle Without Losing the Rest
Keep Your Original Opening
Preserve the beginning of the video instead of trying to recreate the same setup again.
Keep Your Original Ending
Return to the footage you already have after the generated scene finishes.
Create the Missing Moment
Generate an action, transition, reveal, or visual beat that was not in the original footage.
Try More Ideas From One Video
Keep the same source clip and test different replacement scenes without rebuilding every other shot.
Use cases
One Video, More Ways to Finish the Story
Ad Creative
Replace One Moment in an Existing Ad
Keep the opening hook and ending CTA while testing a different action, product moment, or visual idea in the middle.
Product Videos
Add a Product Moment You Did Not Film
Insert a generated reveal, interaction, transition, or environment change without replacing the rest of your product footage.
Creator Videos
Fix the Part That Does Not Work
Replace an awkward or missing section while keeping the footage before and after it.
Storytelling
Add a Missing Scene
Create a short event between two existing moments when the story needs another action or transition.
AI Video Workflows
Extend an Idea Without Regenerating Everything
Use an existing generated clip as the foundation and create a different middle section while preserving the usable parts.
Creative Testing
Make Multiple Versions From One Source
Keep the same beginning and ending while trying different scenes, actions, or visual directions in between.
References
Give the New Scene More Direction
A text description may be enough for simple edits. When a particular character, product, place, visual style, or motion needs stronger guidance, you can also add reference images or videos.
Use an Image Reference When
Appearance matters.
Use a Video Reference When
Motion or camera behavior matters.
Use Both When
You want to guide both the look and the movement.
References guide the result, but they do not guarantee that a person, product, or style is reproduced exactly.
Built to Return to Your Original Footage
The challenge is not only generating a new scene.
The new footage also needs to lead back into the source video you already have. The model uses the selected Start and Resume points to create the replacement and reconnect the sequence.
For a smoother return, leave some original footage after the Resume point rather than placing it at the very end of the video.
Tips
How to Get a Better Inserted Scene
- Choose Start and Resume points where the scene has enough visual context.
- Leave some original footage after the Resume point.
- Describe one clear sequence of actions instead of many unrelated events.
- Use references when the generated scene needs to follow a specific subject or visual idea.
- Avoid asking for an extreme transformation if the scene must return naturally to very different original footage immediately afterward.
- Preview the complete output, not just the generated section, because the transitions matter as much as the new scene itself.
Transparency
A New Scene Can Still Look Different
This is a generative video edit. The model works from your source footage and references, but people, products, clothing, backgrounds, fine details, motion, or camera behavior can still change during the generated section.
More complex edits and larger visual changes can make continuity harder.
Why Replace a Scene Instead of Regenerating the Video?
Regenerating the entire video can also change parts that were already good.
- The face may change.
- The product may change.
- The camera may change.
- The timing may change.
Scene insertion starts with a different idea:
Keep what works. Replace what doesn't.
Scene Insertion vs Video Extension
AI Video Scene Inserter
Changes a section inside an existing video and then returns to the original footage.
Video extension
Continues beyond the end of the existing video.
Use scene insertion when the change belongs in the middle. Use video extension when you want to continue after the ending.
AI Video Scene Inserter FAQ
What is an AI video scene inserter?
An AI video scene inserter replaces part of an existing video with a newly generated scene. You choose where the replacement begins and where the original footage should resume, then describe what should happen in between.
Does it insert a scene without removing anything?
Not exactly. The section between your selected Start and Resume points is replaced by the generated scene. The original footage before Start and after Resume remains part of the final video.
How do I insert a new scene into my video?
Upload your source video, choose the Start and Resume points, describe the new scene, optionally add visual references, choose the generated scene length, and start processing.
How long can the source video be?
The current model accepts source videos up to 60 seconds and 50 MB. Your upload interface may apply additional limits for compatibility.
How long can the new generated scene be?
The generated replacement scene can currently be between 5 and 13 seconds long.
Does the generated scene have to be the same length as the part I replace?
No. The generated scene duration is controlled separately from the Start and Resume range in your source video. This means the final video duration may change.
Can I describe the new scene with text?
Yes. You can describe the action, environment, camera behavior, or other changes you want in the replacement scene.
Can I use reference images?
Yes. Reference images can provide additional visual guidance for subjects, products, characters, environments, or style. The upload area shows how many images you can add.
Can I use reference videos?
Yes. Reference videos can help guide motion, camera behavior, or other visual characteristics. The upload area shows the supported length and number of reference videos.
Will the new scene perfectly match my original video?
Not always. The model is designed to connect the generated scene with the surrounding source footage, but this is still a generative edit. Complex motion, major scene changes, fine identity details, products, clothing, or lighting can vary.
Can I keep the same character in the new scene?
You can use the source footage, prompt, and references to guide character continuity, but exact identity and fine-detail preservation cannot be guaranteed in every generation.
What video quality is available?
The current model supports two quality levels: Standard (480P) and High (768P).
Why do I need to leave footage after the Resume point?
The model needs original footage after Resume to reconnect the generated scene back into your source video. Leaving some footage after that point gives the transition more context.
Is scene insertion the same as extending a video?
No. Scene insertion replaces a section inside an existing video and then returns to the original footage. Video extension continues beyond the original ending.
Am I charged for the entire source video?
The generation cost is based on the duration of the newly generated scene rather than the full source video. Your exact credit cost is shown before you generate.
Can I use the result commercially?
You can use the tool for projects you are authorized to create. Make sure you have the necessary rights to the source video, people, characters, products, brands, reference media, music, and other material involved.
You Do Not Need to Start the Video Again
Keep the footage you already like and generate only the scene you want to change.
